About the initiative
An awareness initiative by the English Department of Imam Al-Jawad Secondary School – Al-Mabarrat Charitable Association

Why it matters
Knowing the signs and seeking medical advice early are two simple steps that make a real difference.
Mortality is reduced when breast cancer cases are detected and treated early.
People with an abnormal breast lump should seek medical care, even if the lump does not hurt.
Treatments for breast cancer are more effective and are better tolerated when started early and taken to completion.
This information is for awareness only and is not a substitute for medical advice.
Our goals
Raise awareness of the signs of breast cancer and the importance of early detection.
Share reliable, properly sourced health information in Arabic and English.
Give students a real cause to speak about in two languages.
Encourage healthy habits and support charitable work in our school community.
The role of schools
A school is where students, teachers and families meet, and what a student learns there travels home.
When students talk about early detection in their own language and in one they are learning, we hope the message reaches more people.
The partnership

The initiative is a joint effort of the English Department and the students of Imam Al-Jawad Secondary School.
